In memory of Eglantine

? ???? ?????, ?? ??? ?? ??? ??????? ?? ??? ????????? ?????????.

? Her foster family contacted us in the evening in a panic. While a few hours earlier, Eglantine was doing well, her condition suddenly deteriorated. Thanks to the quick action of her foster mom, Eglantine barely made it to the Hôpital Vétérinaire Centre-Ville Montréal, where the seriousness of the situation was determined.

? Her little heart was slowing down. She was extremely dehydrated, hypoglycemic, and comatose. Her mucous membranes were yellowish. A complete blood test was performed and did not bode well: an inflammatory focus was suspected. After intensive care, we had a hint of hope when the kitty responded to treatment. The prognosis remained very poor, but an abdominal ultrasound was considered to understand what was going on. Possible diagnoses included gallbladder obstruction or rupture, or fulminant pancreatitis. Despite the complexity of these conditions and the associated care, we were ready to move forward for Eglantine.

? Unfortunately, her condition deteriorated again soon after. Back to her comatose state, Eglantine was no longer responding to treatment. We made the decision to let her go, accompanied by her foster mom who had gained her trust in the last few months.

? We would like to thank Dr. Bédard and the entire team at the Centre Vétérinaire Centre-Ville Montréal who took care of Eglantine until very late last night. We thank and offer our condolences to Ariane, the extraordinary foster mom who offered Eglantine a home, care, and love until the very end.
